Artist's Comments

This is a pixel font, meaning that it is tiny and meant for itty bitty buttons and other things that need fonts of this size. Since this is the first version of this font, I expect there to be a few odd problems or anomalies. I have tested it to the best of my ability with what I have available to remove all immediate problems. In my tests, this font looks best in Photoshop at 10-point size with no anti-aliasing.

This Version 1.0 font has been released under the Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution-ShareAlike Unported license. You are free to use this font for commercial or personal use in any manner you wish, be it digital or print. I do not expect any royalties or credit, however I do appreciate credit and a link back so people may know where to get the material.

Backstory: I created and released this font because the other day (literally a couple of days ago from the date of this posting), I was doing searches for good pixel fonts for a project of mine. Alas, there were either no good-quality free ones or they all came with a price. Frustrated, I broke out some font-editing software and created what you see here. I worked with a 5x5-pixel grid and I did my best to make it look as good as possible.

I would like to point out that when I created this font, I completely forgot the project I needed the thing for to begin with. To this very day, whatever I was going to make with this remains forever lost in the deep recesses of my mind.

neat. did you use that font creator proggie to make that?
:icontybee:
Yup yup! Zat's what I used. ^_^

But it's a bitch making pixel fonts in that. I had to work directly with square block and position them *perfectly* in a 5x5 grid. That meant zooming in all the way to the closest I could get so's I could make sure the stupid blocks were aligned right.

Great font! I started out in digital medium as a tagger, and this font looks really good. We always had problems finding a clear, legible font in a small enough size that we could put all the relevant info without overpowering the tag. Bravo. I'll be sending others here to download this!

Is it a sign of insanity that I get happy over compliments from Stockers? No. A stock photo, just like any other medium, takes a great deal of talent & skill to do right. Stockers are artists, too. Dammit! :shakefist:
Now with blog! [link]

*claps* last night I was looking for a good pixel font!! You saved the day *bows*. I use PS 7, it looks best "crisp" at size 9. Just a note there as I didnt like it sharp at size 10. To bold. Thanks!! I have to go use it now.

Well, thank you very, very much for the compliment. I made this thing for the same reasons that I needed a font like this, but there were expensive price tags to go with most of them out there, or most of 'em just didn't look very good. I mean, come on, $15 for a single font like this? I can spend $10 at a local Wal Mart and get a CD with 1,000 or more fonts on it. It's ridiculous. But anyway, I'm glad you like this and I hope you find some good use for it. :)

i'd like to download but ure link isn't working...
:icontybee:
The link to my website is dead. You'll have to download it from DeviantArt itself.
:icontybee:
Just go to the page with the thumbnail of the font itself, and then click the button on the lower right that says "Download to Desktop". It will download a file named "victor_pixel.zip" to your computer. Choose the location to save it, and then open it. Installing it as a font on Windows is something I can't help with so beyond downloading it, you're on your own.
